You are who you are!

Altercasting is said to be a strategy oftentimes used in advertisements and health promotions.  Manded Altercasting represents what the person is supposed to do in a given situation because he occupies a certain status in the society. For example, Parents often start with "You as a student must....." every time they scold or advice us about our grades and school performances. They know that a student must possess characteristics that will make him do good in school.

While Tact Altercasting means, a person put himself as a sender in a role that evokes a natural counter-role for the other. In relation to the given example in the first type of altercasting, parents should possess good characteristics for their children to adapt and apply it in life. Indeed, they must serve as models to their sons and daughters to have better life and family in the future. Another good example of it are house maids. They were hired to maintain the cleanliness of the house, cook meals every morning, afternoon and evening, take care of the children when her boss went out, and other house chores. The role of the maid is to accomplish things that their boss could not manage because they were too busy in their careers. Since the maid was the one who is responsible for her boss' properties, she must show that she can be depended on without someone saying that to her.

Bell As My House Buddy!

It is nice to wake up in the morning with breakfast's ready. All you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy eating it. Well, it is also motivating to go to work if your stuffs are already prepared and you are on the go. See? Nothing to worry about. It seems interesting if your house chores buddy is a robot. Why not? Robots in other countries are being used as a cleaner, nanny, dish washer, sweeper, gardener and works that real people do. If I were given a chance to own a helping robot, I probably won't reject it because it will be a big help for me at home. The robot will serve as our dishwasher and house maid to lessen our chores and save energy for my other essential activities to do. I will name her "Bell" because i find it cute. Her characteristics are friendly, responsible, keen and punctual. I want her to be real quick but careful in doing her tasks, approachable every time her master asks her to do this or do, on time in all things.

When we talk about humanoid robots, they sounds really techy. But they should also limit the programs of it to avoid negative effects on the society. People will get lazier compared before if science will allow full capabilities on the robot. They will tend to depend everything to the robot because they are complacent that these humanoid robots are designed to take place their responsibilities. Inventors, instead, limit the abilities of the robots to still keep the humans moving day by day.

My World Today

Let us imagine that the world ended. Only few survived and none of the natural resources left. As one of the survivors, I want to establish first the land and shelter because majority of the development will be built on the land.Since it will be the foundation of the rest, it must be fully fixed. Obviously the current earth is at its recovery state, resources are limited and water is unsafe yet. The next thing to establish is food and water supply because people cannot survive life without taking any of it. Lastly, to come up with businesses that will help the society to earn money that they will use for their necessities.

Kill Me This Way!

Are you afraid of death? If you have the chance to set up your death on your own, would you dare? I definitely want to earn all the things I want before I die. First of all, finish my studies and get a stable job to have an income. Second, buy house and lot as well as a luxury car. Third, make a family and live a better life. The rest of course, to invest my children in education until they receive a degree. And when I see that they are doing well same as I did to them, then, I am ready to be with God. I do not like to die in an accident nor murder. I'd rather die due to old age than those cases because I find it unfair. As if, you we're not meant to experience the so called "life".

If you will try to research about the current threat that may lead to destruction of the earth, there are lots of them. One of it that I believe will turn the earth down is, Global Warming. Obviously, its getting worse than the previous years since people are not cooperating in helping out to lessen the visible causes of global warming. Like burning of plastics, we all know that it damages the ozone layer seriously but what, same routine. They still keep on doing it until no one restricts them. Well, if the ozone vanished, we will all die unless there are immortals.

School or Hospital of Fishes?

Radiation Can Cause "Bizarre Mutations"
Once in seawater, radiation can hurt ocean animals in several ways—by killing them outright, creating "bizarre mutations" in their offspring, or passing radioactive material up the food chain, according to Joseph Rachlin, director of Lehman College's Laboratory for Marine and Estuarine Research in New York City.
"There will be a potential for a certain amount of lethality of living organisms, but that's less of a concern than the possible effects on the genetics of the animals that become exposed," Rachlin said.
"That's the main problem as I see it with radiation—altering the genetics of the animal and interfering with reproduction."
Even so, according to radioecologist F. Ward Whicker, the concentrations of iodine and cesium levels "would have to be orders of magnitude larger than the numbers I've seen to date to cause the kind of radiation doses to marine life that would cause mortality or reductions in reproductive potential.
"I am very doubtful that direct effects of radioactivity from the damaged reactors on marine life over a large area off the coast of Japan will be observed," Whicker, professor emeritus at Colorado State University, said via email.
Likewise, using legal limits to gauge damage to marine life is of little value right now, he said.
To make a "credible assessment" of the risk to marine animals, scientists would have to know the actual concentrations of radioactive iodine in the water and fish or other marine animals off Fukushima Daiichi, he said.

So far, that was the latest news I have read about the radiation effect. Not on humans but on animals. The marine life was strictly under observation because of the tragedy happened to Japan lately. It was obviously from the explosion of the nuclear power plant that  threatened the life of the Japanese and worse, it could kill the existing people by consuming the infected goods most especially the fishes. Researchers said that it may cause a huge damage beginning at the food chain that cannot hardly be prevented immediately. If the issue will be proven then I can say that everybody's in trouble.

Fashion for Passion

Good life is when you feel happiness and contentment on the things you deal in life. I could say that I am experiencing good life presently because of the following:

 GOD
 Mom and Dad

My sister and cousin.

Relatives.
Friends.
Teachers.

Why? Because they were the ones who partly filled up the wholeness of my life.

An individual's passion is FASHION. Almost all the women love to shop for bags, clothes, accessories and etc. for a seasonal look. But mind you guys, not only women are doing it. As well as men. Men nowadays are really conscious about how they look day by day. They are not like before anymore who have no taste in choosing clothes and stuffs.
Currently, fashion industry is the bomb among any other business because almost everyone is involve in spreading it. Like simply blogging your "What I am wearing today" article. But of course the professionals behind the growing industry of fashion are really the source of influence. There is the fashion designer, fashion stylist, fashion communicator, fashion blogger, models and careers that completes the fashion company.  Like today, the people especially the youngsters are getting fashion inspiration from the influential fashion icons to keep them in the trend.  I can relate fashion in a platonic view by seeing the "fashionistas" working hard to come up with a good quality of look that will amaze the others.

Above were the sample photos of a fashion blogger who really loves fashion!

High Birth Rate Pulls Down the Economy

What is a perfect world for you? Is it when you experience the life freely without any competition and live equally like the others? Or there is someone superior who is forcing the people to throw away inequality without any considerations such as if you are talented or gifted you will be forced to pull it down, if you are pretty or handsome you have to hide your face to everyone to avoid insecurity? like on the story Harrison Bergeron.  If you have the chance to turn your own nation to a utopia-like, what is the main factor that you want to focus and work on that you see it is a huge hindrance to its development? As a student, I look the economy at its  very poor quality because most of the citizens are experiencing different societal problems. There are several factors why a country is suffering economic crisis that cannot be solved for a long term already. One of it is high birth rate or overpopulation. Overpopulation is a condition of where the number of people exceeds the sustaining capacity of a place. We probably could notice that Philippines is one of the countries who needs to control its growing population to give way in meeting the opportunities to have a better life. Now, my plan is to conduct a study most likely to the depressed area such as Tondo,Manila or any place where we can encounter illegal settlers. Why them? Because those were the people who have more than 5 children in the family excluding the parents and other relatives that live in one roof. Obviously, they are the number one cause of high birth rate in the country. The best project that I could contribute to minimize the high birth rate is to conduct a free seminar to the poor regarding RH or Republic Health so that they will be aware of the risks and advantages of it. I will ask the assistance of DOH or any health-related institutions to support the project and make it extremely effective. At the latter part, we will be giving away free contraceptives like condoms and pills with a doctor's consultation to convince them in controlling their family.Indeed, resources and opportunities will be efficient to the appropriate number of people living in the nation. They will be able to work conveniently, save money for future investments, attend school to finish a degree, sustain foods for daily living and activities which will make their life wonderful that would never take back the poor life they encountered before. Of course, a perfect world is a breathable life. In the general view,   Utopia within the society is possible in terms of cooperation in solving the social illness that a country's undergoing.

Let me think of it

Based on my understanding about the excerpt, the three kinds of civil are as the machines, the decision-makers and the reformers. Masses were called as the machine by its body because they do anything what the superior would command them without considering any moral conditions.  The lawyers, legislators or any  politicians were focused in the moral distinction. They were in charge of evaluating, judging or so whether an individual committed a sin or total innocent, however, the moral distinction was done by merely which is which or purely law-centered; not involving God. Reformers were the opposites of the second group.  They will not judge a person in the eye of the law, perhaps, evaluate a person through God's will and come up to the final verdict. They were considered as the person with conscience that knows how to differentiate right from wrong.

My he"ART" pumps like this!

Doodles at the back of your notebook? Vandals on the street walls? Tattoos on the skin? Drums, guitars playing? Dressing up in a trendy way? Do you consider them as an Art?.  Art is an expression of one's personality that differs us among the crowd. Each of us has various interpretation of art.  It could be through writing, painting, sculpting, playing instruments and so on.
Since I'm talking art related matters here, I would like to share my short understanding about definitions of art that I had learned on the first class discussion of my ArtMusc subject. I  was not expecting that there were lots of art definitions from different artist. But I chose only one that popped out my interest.

"Painting is easy when you don't know how,but very difficult when you do." -Edgar Degas.

Personally, I don't know the other mediums in painting but I just keep going as long as I am having fun. Painting as a subject is a serious matter.Students will learn how to use proper mediums such as watercolors,  oil-based paints, codes of brushes and other tools to a certain painting. It will also teach a beginner on how to create a quality paintings which is good but I still prefer to paint on my own way. Even I had my basic painting class way back highschool, I tend to follow  my style rather than following the guidelines because I am more comfortable with what I am used to.

Those are my paintings. What do you think guys? I hope it does not look bad.

Let us move on to the other points we have also tackled. Our professor showed us some video clips about the NCCA National Artist Award Controversy. Mr. Carlos J. Caparas was one of the intrigued group of artist that former president Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo personally chose. The crowd questioned the involvement of his name on the lists because he did not even undergo formal strict screenings and yet he was declared as easy as that. For me, I appreciate every effort and unique ideas of others. As long as you are creative, you are an artist. But when it comes in to the eyes of the art masters, its not easy to choose which is which and who is who. Thousands of artistic minds are striving to be part of the nationwide artists but very limited are being chosen. I think by seeing the quality of artworks, popularity it gained and have it examined by the artistic community are the formal steps in measuring a person to be an artist.

Let me squeeze my brain for SciFi!

Last meeting, the discussion was all about the introduction of Science Fiction. At first, I got confused between fantasy and science fiction because they are quite related to one another. Fantasy is more on myths while science fiction is indirectly patterned to reality. It comes in different forms like movies, novels, comics and more for the easiest and friendliest access.

1. The Terminator
Basically, the cyborg's mission was to kill a "soon-to-be-significant" woman, Sarah Connor. But he failed on his first attempt and said that he will return soon to finish his unfinished business. I considered this SciFi movie as a strong one because the characteristics of being partly machine is very evident as well as his human side. Technology in this generation could possibly turn you into extraordinary like cyborgs do.

2. The Matrix Reloaded
The movie was about machines who invaded human race and a guy who had an ability to read the codes of each machines or people to protect the humans.

3. I, Robot
It was all about the robot,Sonny, who violated the Three Laws of Robotics but later on found out that Sonny and his creator had a good intention to save humanity through Detective Spooner. Too much dependency on technology will not also benefit the society. It may cause damage or even risk lives
.

1. Power Puff Girls
Sugar, spice and everything nice were the main ingredients in making Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup. This cartoon is good start of introducing the kids minds to SciFis which later on may influence them on their respective careers. I just find it  weak because there are a lot of popular SciFis came out after PPG. But honestly, I have been a big fan of PPG way back elementary days and I was also wishing to have superpowers like them out of chemicals.

2. Megamind
A blue alien who was born to be a super-villain with loads of high-tech weapons and laboratories. Ever since, he had a goodguy nemesis named Metro Man that kept him a loser until he defeated him one time. He realized that his role as a super-villain was not anymore effective without Metro Man. At the end, he became a superhero and no longer a super-villain. The twist of the story was very shallow and that convinced me to write it under this category.

3. 2012
The movie was good but there were parts that made it over-acting. But the thought of the story was nice and made me imagine if ever it will happen in reality(Hoping not! Dear God).

(P.S Sarrrry for the limited details, I'm not fond of watching SciFi movies though. But I tried my best to recall what I have watched previously)
