Face Do The Talking.

According to Ting-Toomey, Face Negotiation is  a concept that deals with how different people and cultures place importance and value on identity and how conflict is handled by those within those cultures. The theory rests on the differing experiences and perceptions of individualistic and collectivist cultures. The theory is largely used in two or more parties have differing opinions or known as the 'conflict negotiation'. However, there are resolutions that could mutually satisfy everyone which may lead to the success of resolving the conflict.

Based from my experience, I have been into various type of conflicts with different set of people when I was still working under Guest Relations Department at Enchanted Kingdom. My job there was a ticket taker who  collects ticket from the guests, places wrist tag, measures the height of each children that will enter the park  and answers the queries of any guests all the time. I thought It was that easy to be in a simple kind of work but it suddenly turned out to be stressful for me because I do a lot of talking time to time. There was a time that the weather was rainy and a guy wanted to purchase the REGULAR DAY PASS TICKET worth 500 pesos which he can access all the EK-owned rides except the concessionaires. So I explained to him that whenever it rains 30 minutes after entering the park, there will be no refund prior to the purchasing policy. I kept on repeating it slowly for him to sink in. Unfortunately,  He did not get my point and started to make a scene in front of a crowd. I could say that he reacted wrong to my explanation. He also claimed that I was forcing him to buy the RDP Ticket even if it rains that pushed him to buy it. From that scenario, I used preventive framework during the intervals of our conversation to avoid getting it bigger. But no matter how careful I was, the conflict still ended unresolved.
